Martek to supply oils to Arla Foods

COLUMBIA, Md. (AP) - Martek Biosciences Corp., which makes nutritional oils to supplement baby food, said Monday it agreed to supply European dairy company Arla Foods with its omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.

Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.

Arla Foods plans to use Martek's blend of DHA, an omega-3 fatty acid, and ARA, an omega-6 fatty acid, in infant formula in some of its markets.

Martek shares dropped 28 cents to $20.24 in afternoon trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market.
