France Telecom says not interested in Telecom Italia stake

PARIS (Thomson Financial) - France Telecom is not interested in building a stake in Telecom Italia, the French company's finance director, Gervais Pellissier, said.

The daily Il Sole 24 Ore recently reported that France Telecom is studying the possibility of buying a controlling stake in Telecom Italia as Pirelli seeks to sell its holding in Olimpia, which owns 18 pct of the Italian telecoms group.

Pellisser said the reconfiguration of holdings in Telecom Italia is mainly an Italian problem, adding that France Telecom has 'no appetite' to participate in such events.
