LONDON: Sir Michael Jackson? Well, yes if the reports that are attributed to his former spokesman, Bob Jones are to be believed.

According to Jones, Jackson is obsessed with his celebrity image and did his utmost to get onto the honours list for a knighthood by arm-twisting Buckingham Palace.

Bob Jones who was fired after working 34 years for the pop icon said that Jacko would have given his eyetooth to be Sir Jackson, "We spent a fortune communicating with the Queen’s people to make him a knight and they weren’t interested. He was obsessed with the celebrity image to the core. He has a throne in his house," Jones said.

Jones has revealed all in an explosive book called Michael Jackson: The Man Behind the Mask. He says that Jackson is obsessed with Christ as well. Apparently Jacko has a painting of The Last Supper above his bed - in which HE (Jacko) replaces Jesus!

Jones did not go into the depth and reveal exactly why Jackson felt that he deserved the knighthood, but said that the palace was not interested. "They were not interested," he says.

Jones testified in the recent Jackson child molestation trial for the prosecution. In his book he alleges that Jackson had “a sinister gift” for identifying young boys. “It was as if he had some sort of radar. He manipulated people and events with a great deal of finesse,” he says.

He adds that though he never witnessed Jacko do anything illegal, he was disturbed by his employers' behaviour. He highlights an incident when Jackson has allegedly written a love note on a bed sheet to one boy who visited his Neverland ranch. Jones says that he hid this sheet from the maid, but “It bothered me,” he admitted.

As a foreign national Jackson's chances of getting a knighthood are rare. In any case it is 10 Downing Street, which controls the honours list and not Buckingham Palace. Jackson simply approached the wrong people!
