MILAN (AFX) - Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi said there are no restrictions for foreign investments in Italy, even in the telecom sector, where the presence of foreigners is already very strong, daily Il Sole 24 Ore reported.Regarding possible ownership changes at Olimpia, the Pirelli & C SpA unit that controls Telecom Italia SpA, Prodi said 'it is a problem that pertains to Telecom (Italia) and not to the government.'The newspaper also cited comments about Telecom Italia made by Silvio Berlusconi, former Prime Minister and owner of Mediaset SpA, which press reports indicated as possibly interested in Telecom Italia.'The situation at Telcom (Italia) is not my business, therefore I'm not commenting,' Berlusconi said.Pirelli is considering a sale of part or all of its stake in Olimpia.Il Sole 24 Ore said Pirelli wants any transaction on Olimpia to value the underlying Telecom Italia shares at 2.70 eur or more, a level which is above Telecom Italia's current market price of 2.15 eur per share.danilo.masoni@thomson.comdm/icCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
