General Dynamics says part of team awarded 20 bln usd US government contract

FALLS CHURCH, Virginia (Thomson Financial) - General Dynamics Information Technology, a unit of General Dynamics Corp, said it will provide next-generation technical support services as a member of the Verizon consortium that won a 20 bln usd contract as part of the US government's Networx program.

General Dynamics said the contract will run over 10 years.

The program will provide voice, internet protocol, wireless, satellite and IP-centric services to 135 federal agencies in 191 countries, General Dynamics said.
