PITTSBURGH (AP) - Mellon Financial Corp. plans to spend nearly $70 million to expand a data center north of Pittsburgh and expects to increase staffing by up to 200 jobs.The expanded Armstrong County facility will serve as one of two data centers supporting global operations of The Bank of New York Mellon Corp., which will be formed by the proposed merger of Mellon and The Bank of New York.Pending regulatory approvals, the merger is expected to close around July 1.The data center opened in spring 2006.
