HELSINKI (Thomson Financial) - The price of European PIX Northern Bleached Softwood Kraft averaged 587.59 eur per tonne in the week ending Aug 26, down 7.03 eur from the previous week on the back of a strengthening in the euro against the dollar.In dollar terms, the PIX NBSK was unchanged at 800.00 usd.Foex, a provider of audited, trade-mark registered pulp and paper indexes, said the PIX Bleached Hardwood Kraft Pulp (BHKP) price index dropped 3.74 eur to 525.64 eur per tonne.The prices of the main paper grades were little changed, with the price of light weight coated (LWC) paper edging 0.06 eur higher to 671.67 eur a tonne and coated wood-free paper 0.27 eur higher to 709.72 eur.Newsprint rose 0.04 eur to 539.49 eur.PIX data is compiled using price information from buyers, sellers and agents.james.etheridge@thomson.comje/cmrCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
