WASHINGTON (AP) - Bank of America Corp. won federal approval to open five branches, a government agency said.The U.S. Treasury Department's Office of the Comptroller of the Currency said in a weekly bulletin of regulatory activity, released Wednesday, that the company's requests to open the branches were approved Sept. 18 and Sept. 21.Three of the branches will be located in Chicago, while the other two will be in San Diego, and Scottsdale, Ariz.Shares of Bank of America dropped 44 cents to $50.16 in late trading Friday.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
