FRANKFURT (Thomson Financial) - GPC Biotech AG, the biotech firm that is slashing jobs after setbacks in drug development, is looking for a partner among privately held companies, chief executive Bernd Seizinger told Financial Times Deutschland.GPC's listing in the US and Germany is attractive for privately held companies in the US and Europe, which would gain access to capital markets through a tie-up with GPC, said Seizinger, who is currently holding talks in Boston.Any such alliance would focus exclusively on cancer treatments, he added.Seizinger also told the newspaper he intends to stay on as CEO, rebuffing speculation he may quit.ludwig.burger@thomson.comlb/mas/ms1COPYRIGHTCopyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
