LONDON (AFX) - Bus and coach operator Stagecoach Group PLC said it placed orders for more than 440 buses worth 55 mln stg for its UK bus division as the company continues to generate strong passenger growth.The company said the passenger numbers at Stagecoach's bus operations have grown year-on-year by around 6 pct as a result of a major ongoing telemarketing campaign, a package of innovative initiatives in partnership with local authorities, and new journeys under concessionary fares schemes.Stagecoach said the fleet of new vehicles from vehicle manufacturers Alexander Dennis, Optare, MAN, Plaxton, Scania and Volvo will be delivered between May 2007 and the end of April 2008.newsdesk@afxnews.comrda/ra/tcCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
