MADRID (AFX) - Bourse regulator CNMV has called on Enel SpA to provide full details of its acquisition of a 9.99 pct stake in Endesa SA.

In a letter to Enel, the CNMV said it needs information on when Enel decided to buy shares in the Spanish utility and since when it has been stake-building, including dates, volumes, and the broker or brokers used.

It has also asked Enel how much of Endesa it intends to buy, and whether it currently has any financial instruments in place guaranteeing further shares.

The CNMV also wishes to know what Enel's intentions are with regard to its vote at Endesa's March 20 AGM, where shareholders will vote to lift the current 10 pct cap on voting rights, a key condition for E.ON AG's existing 38.75 eur per share bid for Endesa.

The regulator added that it wants to know if Enel has been in talks with any of Endesa's core shareholders.

These include Acciona SA and Caja Madrid.

The CNMV called on Enel to say whether it intends to participate in Endesa's management.
