MADRID (AFX) - Acciona SA said it had no prior knowledge of Enel SpA's plans to acquire shares in Endesa SA.

A spokeswoman for the constructor added that Enel's move 'ratifies our opinion of Endesa's' true value.

Last month, Acciona presented its business plan for Endesa, in which it said the utility was worth 45.3-48.1 eur per share.

Enel has announced that it completed yesterday the purchase of a 9.99 pct stake, or 105.9 mln shares, in the Spanish utility at 39 eur per share.

The investment totals 4.126 bln eur.

The acquisition is part of its 'strategy aimed at strengthening the company's position on the European electricity market, the Italian company noted.

This morning it also confirmed reports that it is considering increasing its Endesa stake to 24.99 pct.

On whether Acciona will hold talks with Enel, the spokeswoman said: 'We are open to talks with everyone..but there is nothing concrete.'

She reiterated the company's stance that it will remain in Endesa only if it can participate in the management of the utility.

Acciona has already said it will sell its 21 pct stake in Endesa to the German firm if it wins acceptance from a majority of shareholders.
