FRANKFURT (AFX) - BASF AG said its pipeline insecticide Metaflumizone is scheduled to be released earlier than planned in India and China in 2007.The company declined to specify when the insecticide was originally due to be launched.The move is part of BASF's strategy to focus on innovative rather than generic products in Asian growth markets, a company spokesman said.BASF is also due to launch new products using the fungicide F500 in India in the coming months.President of BASF's Agricultural Products Michael Heinz said the company is in particular targeting the high-value fruit and vegetable sector of the market with innovative products.krysia.diver@afxnews.comkd/harCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
