LONDON (AFX) - Xstrata PLC said it has reached a tentative pay agreement with the workers at the Sudbury nickel mine in Canada, averting a potential strike action at the site.Around 200 office, clerical and technical employees were represented by the union which held talks with the group for a new deal that will replace an existing agreement expiring today.'The new agreement has been unanimously recommended for acceptance by the union's bargaining team,' said Xstrata in a statement, adding the terms of the new deal were 'fair and competitive'.The agreement is subject to the union member's approval, it said.monicca.egoy@thomson.commbe/nesCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
