Mylan launches generic Accupril

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Mylan Laboratories Inc. said Wednesday its Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. subsidiary launched generic versions of Pfizer's Accupril and Accuretic blood-pressure medications.

The generic quinapril tablets come in 5-milligram, 10-milligram, 20-milligram, and 40-milligram doses. Mylan also launched quinapril hydrochloride and hydrochlorothiazide tablets in several strengths.

Quinapril is in a group of blood pressure medications known as ACE inhibitors.

Mylan shares fell 10 cents to $21.31 on the New York Stock Exchange in afternoon trading.
