PHOENIX (AP) - Regional airline Mesa Air Group Inc. said Wednesday January traffic rose 7.6 percent, despite inclement weather in the eastern U.S. during the month.Revenue passenger miles grew to 537.7 million miles from 499.8 million during the same period a year ago. One revenue passenger mile equals one paying passenger flown one mile.Capacity rose 6.9 percent to 782.2 million available seat miles in January, from 731.7 million a year ago.Load factor, or the number of passengers carried as a proportion of available seats, rose to 68.7 percent from 68.3 percent. The carrier boarded 1.3 million passengers in January, up 18.6 percent from 1.1 million in the year-ago period.Shares of Mesa Air fell 19 cents to close at $7.61 on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
