FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - American Airlines said Wednesday it has hired an executive from the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport to manage its relations with state and local governments.Kevin Cox will join American April 8 as vice president for state and community affairs after 16 years with the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport. He replaces John Carpenter, who recently retired.'Kevin is highly respected for his industry knowledge, negotiation skills, financial acumen, and the ability to get things done,' said Will Ris, vice president of American Airlines government affairs.Shares of American Airlines parent company AMR Corp. fell 60 cents Wednesday to $30.64 in afternoon trading on the New York Stock Exchange.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
