FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - A top executive at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport was hired by American Airlines on Wednesday to head the company's state and community affairs group.Kevin E. Cox will replace John Carpenter, who recently retired from American, on April 8.Cox spent 16 years at DFW Airport, where he most recently served as senior executive vice president and chief operating officer.At Fort Worth-based American, Cox will head the company's state and community affairs group, responsible for dealing with state and local governments on airline-related issues.American Airlines is owned by AMR Corp.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
