TOKYO (XFN-ASIA) - The value of domestic shipments of consumer electronic products was 7.0 pct higher last month than a year before at 228.2 bln yen, rising for the fifth straight month, the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association said.The association said the volume of shipments of plasma display panel televisions had risen 45.4 pct to 89,000 sets and deliveries of liquid crystal display TVs had climbed 37.3 pct to 547,000.In contrast, shipments of cathode-ray tube TVs dropped by 62.7 pct to 67,000.Shipments of DVD recorders and players slipped 13.5 pct to 419,000.(1 usd = 121.66 yen)yasuhiko.seki@xfn.com
