MOSCOW (Thomson Financial) - Russia said it was greatly disappointed by Iran's nuclear policies after a critical report on them by the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency last week. The agency report 'showed that Iran was not fulfilling theresolutions of the (IAEA) board of governors and the (UN) SecurityCouncil,' Interfax news agency quoted deputy foreign minister SergeiKislyak as saying.'It evokes great disappointment... We hope Tehran will reviewits position.'The report, released on Wednesday, said that Iran was continuingto defy UN demands to stop enriching uranium, and was expanding itswork.Russia's close co-operation with Iran's civilian nuclear programhas weakened in recent months amid a financing spat that has delayedRussia's construction of Iran's first nuclear power station.Russia has previously resisted urgings from Washington, whichsuspects Iran of harbouring a covert nuclear weapons program, toincrease pressure on Iran to open its civilian nuclear program tocloser scrutiny.tf.TFN-Europe_newsdesk@thomson.comafp/ejbCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
