HILVERSUM, Netherlands (Thomson Financial) - Nike Inc and Euroleague Basketball said they have agreed a five-year partnership under which Nike will be the official ball supplier for the Euroleague competition.The aim of the partnership is to raise basketball's profile in Europe, they said. The league's 24 teams, and the 54 teams in the ULEB (Union des Ligues Europeennes de Basket), will use the Nike 4005 Tournament Ball for the 2008 season and in pre-season events such as the Euroleague ChinaTour in October.The ball has four panels, involving fewer converging lines so the shooter can place her or his hands in the optimal shooting position quickly. The synthetic leather with microfiber backer keep sweat from collecting on the ball's surface.Euroleague Basketball is a professional league founded in 2000.
