ZURICH (Thomson Financial) - Roche Holdings AG said the US Food and Drug Administration has approved its biologics license application for the company's test for detection of West Nile Virus in donated human blood and plamsa.West Nile Virus, which can cause serious health issues, is transmitted to humans most often though mosquito bites, but can also be transmitted by transfusion of infected blood or blood products.The newly approved test enables detection of the virus earlier in the infection cycle in donors who may show symptoms of the disease, the Swiss pharma group said.johanna.treeck@thomson.comjmt/vsCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
