Roche infringes one of Amgen's anaemia drug patents says US court

ZURICH (Thomson Financial) - Amgen Inc said a US federal court has ruled that Roche Holdings AG's rival product infringes one of the US group's anaemia drug patents.

According to the ruling, Roche's pegylated-erythropoietin ('peg-EPO') product will infringe Amgen's EPO pharmaceutical composition patent number 5,955,422, the group said.

A further dispute relating to Roche's potential infringement of patents covering Amgen's anaemia drugs will be resumed in US courts on Sept 4.
