LISBON (Thomson Financial) - The Portuguese government has approved a draft bill to launch a tender for terrestrial digital TV, an official at the public works ministry said.The official said the government will now launch two tenders by the end of the year, one to manage digital free-to-air channels and one to manage digital pay-TV stations.Sector watchers said there is likely to be enough space for three new FTA channels.There are currently four analogue FTA channels in Portugal, including state-owned RTP1 and RTP2, SIC, owned by Impresa SGPS, and TVI, owned by Media Capital SGPS.luis.morais@thomson.comlm/jlcCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
