LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Danone yoghurts withdrawn from the Romanian market by the company last week because of a suspected risk of dioxin contamination have been declared safe by Romanian public health authority ANSVSA.'The level of dioxin (in the yoghurts) is, at between 0.08 and 0.22 picogrammes per gramme, lower than the safe level of 3 picogrammes permitted under European norms,' said ANSVSA Radu Roatis, citing the results of tests carried out by the body's approved laboratory in Budapest. While ANSVSA has lifted the ban on the products, it is now up to Danone to decide whether or not to sell them, he said.tfn.newsdesk@thomson.comcm2/lce/jrCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
