WASHINGTON (AP) - Johnson & Johnson paid Abernathy Consultants $100,000 to lobby the federal government in the first half of 2007, according to a disclosure form.Abernathy Consultants lobbied on legislation affecting the Medicare prescription drug benefit, which provides pharmaceuticals for U.S. seniors.Under a federal law enacted in 1995, lobbyists are required to disclose activities that could influence members of the executive and legislative branches. They must disclose how much they are paid for the first six months of each year.Johnson & Johnson disclosed its lobbying activity in a form filed online Aug. 14 by the Senate's public records office.Johnson & Johnson is headquartered in New Brunswick, N.J.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
