DETROIT (AP) - Software developer Compuware Corp. said Wednesday it will consolidate some product development work at its Detroit headquarters, in a move expected to cut its operating costs by about $13 million each year and result in about 100 jobs being eliminated.Compuware said it will move development of its Strobe products from Cambridge, Mass., to Detroit, which it said will unify development for all of the company's mainframe solutions.The company also plans to move development of its Vantage Service Manager product from Sydney, Australia, to Detroit, where it develops a number of its other Vantage products.And Compuware said it plans to move development of its Optimal Trace product from Dublin, Ireland, to Detroit, to unify development of its application delivery management solutions.The moves are expected to result in the elimination of about 100 jobs. Compuware said it will maintain a sales presence in all three locations.Compuware shares rose 47 cents, or 6.3 percent to $7.94 in afternoon trading.Copyright 2007 Associated Press.
