PARIS (AFX) - Employee shareholders at Safran are to lodge a complaint with the AMF accusing board chairman Jean-Paul Bechat of providing inaccurate and false information, French daily La Tribune said, citing sources close to the shareholders. The complaint relates to the discovery of accounting anomalies in the group's defence and security division, which are currently being corrected. In December last year Safran published a statement saying 'certain unexplained accounting entries' had been found in the division and that the corresponding restatements 'were likely to have an impact of up to 100 mln eur'.According to La Tribune, shareholders are demanding adequate penalties for Bechat and his dismissal from the group. The paper said Safran declined to comment on the news.Safran is due to publish its certified accounts on February 13.paris@afxnews.comvb/ambCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2006.
