Japan's Bandai recalls video games for small children |

TOKYO (XFN-ASIA) - Toymaker Bandai said it was recalling up to 173,816 video game consoles as a result of or faulty cords that can cause burns and smoke.The company's 'Let's TV Play' series caused a slight burn to a child. The firm has also received 17 reports of overheating cords causing smoke, a Bandai spokeswoman said.The product was launched last year and the company has shipped 173,816 units. But the firm knows of 135,816 units that have been bought by customers, with the rest still in stock, she said.A few hundred units of the series have been sold overseas for battery-power-use only without the faulty cords, the company said.AFP
