MADRID (AFX) - Indra Sistemas SA said it has won contracts in the United States worth 18 mln usd to develop motorway toll systems and two control centres in Indiana, confirming an earlier report in Spanish newspaper La Gaceta de los Negocios.In a statement, Indra said the contracts were awarded by the ITR Concession Company, a joint venture between Macquarie Infrastructure and Cintra Concesiones e Infraestructuras SA.The tolls will be placed along the 156 mile Indiana Toll Road, which links the states of Illinois and Ohio.The first phase of the work will renovate the existing toll system on the first 23 miles of motorway.For the second phase of the project, Indra will install a toll system on the remaining 123 miles, the company said.afxmadrid@afxnews.comcve/ped/jagCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2006.
