WASHINGTON (AFX) - The U.S. Navy said on Monday it awarded a $268.1 million contract boost to a unit of defense contractor Northrop Grumman Corp.Pascagoula, Miss.-based Northrop Grumman Ship Systems will provide additional design work on the Navy's multi-mission destroyer, the DDG 1000 Zumwalt Class. The company has already received $39.4 million for advanced design work on the ship.Shares of Northrop Grumman gained 25 cents to finish at $70.74 on the New York Stock Exchange.Copyright 2006 Associated Press.
