Taiwan's ASE group, Netherlands' NXP Semiconductors establish China jv |

TAIPEI (XFN-ASIA) - Advanced Semiconductor Engineering Inc (2311.TW) (ASE Inc) and NXP Semiconductors of the Netherlands said they have completed the establishment of an integrated circuits assembly and test joint venture in mainland China.Initially announced in February of this year, a joint statement said the new company is now named ASEN and is located at the Suzhou Industrial Park in the southeastern province of Jiangsu.ASEN is 60 pct owned by ASE Inc with the other40 pct held by NXP, a semiconductor firm founded by Philips.Initially ASEN will focus on mobile communications and is expected to expand into other segments in the future.ASEN will leverage and expand the previous assembly and test facility of NXP Semiconductors in Suzhou.
