Johnson & Johnson files application for new schizophrenia drug |

NEW YORK (Thomson Financial) - Johnson & Johnson's pharmaceutical research division Monday said it had submitted a new drug application to the Food and Drug Administration for paliperidone palmitate, which treats schizophrenia.The company said the drug utilizes Elan's nanocrystal technology, and that upon approval, the drug will be marketed in the United States by Janssen LP.Johnson & Johnson is a consumer products company based in Titusville, N.J.
