Bavarian Nordic says smallpox vaccine Imvamune successful in phase II trial |

COPENHAGEN (Thomson Financial) - Danish pharmaceutical company Bavarian Nordic AS reported positive results from a phase II clinical trial of its smallpox vaccine Imvamune.The trial, together with other phase II studies of the drug, is pivotal for obtaining an emergency use authorization (EUA) for Imvamune, Bavarian Nordic said, and added it expects to receive EUA approval in the second half of 2008.'This study completes the phase II development of Imvamune in healthy subjects and this now leads to planning with the FDA on the design of the phase III study that is planned to commence in 2008,' the group further said.gustav.sandstrom@thomson.comgs/sljCOPYRIGHTCopyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
