PARIS (Thomson Financial) - Merck's prescription division, Merck Serono, plans to divest its French research centre at Chilly-Mazarin, Les Echos reported.The move follows the German pharmaceutical company's decision to focus on products prescribed by specialists, the paper said, citing Pierre-Henry Longeray, managing director of Merck Serono France.The company said it has already had contact with a number of companies but has not yet begun the sale process.The site, its last remaining research centre in France, employs 104 researchers and technicians, Les Echos said.helen.beresford@thomson.comhem/ms1COPYRIGHTCopyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
