TAIPEI (XFN-ASIA) - Acer Inc is conducting a full investigation of allegations of patent infringement by Hewlett-Packard Co, which is suing Acer and its US subsidiary, Acer said.Acer said in a written statement that it respected intellectual property.Acer said it had obtained substantial intellectual property itself, and that it 'expects others to respect our intellectual property and is prepared to take all necessary steps to protect and enforce our patented technologies against unlicensed use.'HP is suing Acer in a federal court in Texas, accusing it of illegally using patented HP technology in a variety of desktop and laptops computers and displays sold in the US. HP is asking the court for unspecified damages and an injunction prohibiting Acer from selling any items based on patented HP technology in the US.adela.lin@afxasia.com
