TOKYO (XFN-ASIA) - Spending by households in April jumped 1.1 pct in real terms from a year before to an average 316,163 yen, rising for the fourth month in a row, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications said.The increase was much bigger than the 0.1 pct rise economists were expecting and followed a 0.1 pct growth in March.The overall income of households was unchanged year-on-year, ending six straight months ofgains. The income of household heads was also flat from a year earlier, following nine consecutivemonth of gains.Disposable income dropped 0.4 pct year-on-year in April, down for the first time in six months.(1 usd = 121.76 yen)kaori.kaneko@xfn.comkk/mas
