PARIS (Thomson Financial) - Deutsche Telekom is the favoured candidate to acquire France Telecom's Dutch subsidiary Orange Nederland, French daily La Tribune reported, citing sources close to the matter.In exchange, Francew Telecom is hoping to acquire Deutsche Telecom's Spanish subsidiary, Ya.com, the paper said.The report follows the confirmation yesterday by the French telecoms operator that it had received expressions of interest from investors seeking to acquire all or part of Orange Nederland, and had begun a formal examination of offers.The group also confirmed last Wednesday that it was in talks to acquire Ya.com.La Tribune last week reported that a deal between Deutsche Telekom and France Telecom to swap their respective Spanish and Dutch assets was 'imminent,' and that that Deutsche Telekom is to pay its French counterpart 1 bln eur to reflect the difference in valuation.vicky.buffery@thomson.comvb/jfrCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
