FRANKFURT (Thomson Financial) - DaimlerChrysler CEO Dieter Zetsche said the German auto group will focus on increasing revenues it looks to propel Mercedes back to being the worlds most profitable luxury carmaker.Senior management may have been distracted by the troubles of Chrysler, the lossmaking US carmaker that DaimlerChrysler agreed to sell last month. But now the group will 'focus more on the top line, on the creation of our business going forward and less on the repairs,' Zetsche told the Financial Times.Mercedes, which has lagged behind its main rival BMW in recent years, should look to grow revenues faster than the luxury car market, which itself has above-average growth, he said.It plans no large product expansion although it will push harder into emerging markets such as Russia, eastern Europe, China and India.Zetsche added that he sees no acquisition targets for Mercedes, and that he will resist calls to split off the trucks business from the car division.tf.TFN-Europe_newsdesk@thomson.comjmsCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
