WASHINGTON (AP) - Rohm and Haas Co. sold its automotive coatings business and manufacturing facility in Germany to French manufacturer Mader Group, the company said Friday.Rohm and Haas' sold its European Automotive Coatings unit and its manufacturing site in Strullendorf, Germany to the Lille, France-based company, which makes high-tech industrial paints and coatings.The sale completes the Frankfurt-based company divestiture of its automotive coating assets. In October 2006, the company sold its automotive coatings division in North America and the Asia Pacific region to Nippon Paint Co. Ltd.The unit will be folded into a new company named Mader Plastilack GmbH.Shares of Rohm and Haas rose $1.04 to $54.80 in midday trading.Copyright 2007 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
