LONDON - Supermodel Kate Moss has checked out of an Arizona rehabilitation clinic after undergoing therapy for her addiction to coke. Moss, whose cocaine snorting exploits cost her a fortune in modeling contracts, will be reunited with her 3-year-old daughter, Lila in the next few days.
Newspaper headlines in September had castigated Moss by publishing pictures of her allegedly snorting coke. Despite some damage control measures, Moss lost out lucrative contracts with Chanel, Burberry, H Stern and H&M. The 31-year-old then checked into the Meadows Clinic in Arizona for a month's therapy. Moss owned up responsibility for her actions and said that she would not be repeating them in future.
Moss' modeling agency, Storm said that she was "looking forward to getting back to work." Moss is currently with friends in the US before flying home to be with her daughter. Her schedule for the next month is already packed with jobs in Los Angeles, Paris and New York. She also graces the Pirelli calendar to be released next month.
"Kate is in excellent spirits and looking forward to getting back to work. She wants to thank everyone for their messages of support as they have played a major part in helping her," a Storm spokeswoman said.
However, some agencies have said that they would not renew their contracts with Moss even in the future. French company Chanel has said that it would never work with Moss again. H&M has chosen Italian model Mariacarla Boscono to replace Moss in TV commercials to launch a new collection by Stella McCartney next month.
Meanwhile, police are saying that Moss was set up in the pictures that were splashed in the Daily Mirror, "Someone went in there with the specific intention of stitching her up and we are investigating where the cocaine came from and who had the hidden camera. We want to question Kate Moss, but we are also interested in getting the whole picture," a senior Scotland Yard source was quoted as saying to the London newspaper the Evening Standard.
