SEOUL (Thomson Financial) - South Korea's industrial output continued to expand in June because of stronger production of semiconductors, liquid crystal display panels, cellphones and flat-panel televisions, preliminary data released Monday by the National Statistical Office show.The figure reinforces optimism that the economy will sustain the momentum of its nascent recovery into the second half of 2007.Industrial output was a seasonally-adjusted 1.9 percent higher in June than in May, rising for the third straight month, having been 1.0 percent higher in May than in April. The increase was above market expectations, economists having expected, on average, a rise of 1.2 percent.Industrial output was 7.6 percent higher in June than a year before.
