MUMBAI (Thomson Financial) - India's Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd said it has won a contract worth 19.9 bln rupees to supply units for a thermal power project being built in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.The state-run power equipments maker said it will supply and install steam generator and steam turbine packages -- two units of 500 MW each -- at the Vallur Thermal Power Project at Ennore.It said the orders for the green-field power project were placed by NTPC-Tamil Nadu Energy Co Ltd, a joint venture between NTPC Ltd and the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board.Earlier this month, BHEL had won two contracts worth a total 94 bln rupees for the supply and installation of seven 500 MW units at various power projects in India.yogesh.sapkale@thomson.comyos/jro/jrCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
