Sycamore gets Nasdaq filing extension |

CHELMSFORD, Mass. (AFX) - Sycamore Networks Inc., a maker of optical switches used to build fiber-optic networks, said Monday the Nasdaq's listing qualifications panel has granted its request for continued listing.The company, which is investigating its past stock-option granting practices, said the decision is subject to its filing of delayed reports -- for the fiscal year ended July 31 and its fiscal first quarter, as well as any restatements -- by March 14.Sycamore said it must also provide the Nasdaq with additional information regarding its options investigation by March 2.Sycamore Networks is one of at least 107 companies under scrutiny by the Securities and Exchange Commission or Department of Justice over possible backdating of stock option grants.Shares closed down 2 cents at $3.75 on the Nasdaq.Copyright 2006 Associated Press.
