TAIPEI (XFN-ASIA) - Bilateral trade between Taiwan and China in the 11 months to November rose 15.8 pct from the same period a year earlier to 80.40 bln usd, the Board of Foreign Trade said.The figure accounted for 20.6 pct of Taiwan's total external trade during the period, compared with 19.9 pct in the year-ago period, it said, citing statistics compiled by Taiwan and Hong Kong customs.For the January-November period, Taiwan registered a trade surplus with China of 35.08 bln usd, up 7.1 pct from a year earlier, it said.Exports to the mainland during the period rose 13.0 pct year-on-year to 57.74 bln usd, while imports from there were up 23.7 pct at 22.66 bln usd.Shipments to mainland China in the 11 months accounted for 28.2 pct of Taiwan's total exports during the period, compared with 28.3 pct a year earlier, it said.Imports from China during the period accounted for 12.2 pct of Taiwan's total, up from 10.9 pct the year before, it added.philip.wang@afxasia.com
