Amtech gets $3.5 million in solar orders

TEMPE, Ariz. (AFX) - Amtech Systems Inc., which makes automation systems for makers of computer chips and solar cells said Tuesday it received $3.5 million in new orders from Asian solar companies.

Amtech said a $2.5 million order came from a current customer, and a $1 million order was a new customer win. Further details weren't disclosed

Shares of Amtech rose 19 cents, or 2.9 percent, to $6.84 in midday trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market.
