China 2007 steel production seen at 480 mln tons - association

DALIAN, China (XFN-ASIA) - China's steel production in 2007 is expected to hit 480 mln tons, according to Luo Bingsheng, executive vice chairman of the China Iron and Steel Association.

Luo told an industry conference here that steel production in the first nine months was 360 mln tons.

He added that domestic iron ore production for 2007 is expected to reach 800 mln tons.
