Gemstar-TV Guide buys Aptiv for $16M

LOS ANGELES (AP) - TV Guide magazine publisher Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc. said Friday it bought interactive navigation software company Aptiv Digital for about $16 million in cash.

Gemstar anticipates the deal will be accretive to its earnings starting in 2007.

Burbank, Calif.-based Aptiv Digital is a privately company.

Gemstar shares rose 6 cents to close at $4.21 on the Nasdaq Stock Market. In after-hours trading, Gemstar climbed an additional 4 cents to $4.25.
