Alstom, Bombardier win 140 mln eur order for 16 regional trains in France |

PARIS (AFX) - Alstom and Bombardier have won a 140 mln eur order to supply 16 local trains to French rail operator SNCF, with Alstom claiming 108 mln eur of the contract, the French company said in a press release.SNCF has ordered 16 double-decker Coradia trains, each consisting of five cars, to be delivered in 2010 to the Haute-Normandie region.Canadian group Bombardier is to participate in the construction of 32 cars, Alstom said.The French group added that the order forms part of a programme launched in September 2000 by France's regional authorities to renovate their train network.Last month, Alstom said it won train orders from SNCF for 51 double-decker Coradia trains for its regional network, with Bombardier also participating in the manufacturing of these trains as part of an agreement between the two companies.paris@afxnews.comgt/cmlCOPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
