Bombardier wins 63 mln eur rail maintenance contract in Florida |

LONDON (AFX) - Bombardier Inc said its Transportation unit has won a seven-year contract valued at 63 mln eur from the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) to provide maintenance services for its fleet of commuter rail vehicles.Under the terms of the contract, Bombardier said it will design and implement a comprehensive life-cycle maintenance programme for SFRTAs commuter rail fleet, which includes locomotives, self-propelled passenger rail vehicles and Bombardier BiLevel passenger coaches.The contract includes the option to extend it by a further three years, which would increase its value to 91 mln eur. Bombardier said the contract will run from July 1 this year.Bombardier said the SFRTA runs 40 trains per day in a 72-mile corridor between Miami and West Palm Beach, with more serbvice expected to be introduced later this year.newsdesk@afxnews.comms1COPYRIGHTCopyright AFX News Limited 2007.
